Am Hof 8 is not only a place to feel good and expand your network, but also a place of inspiration. With the help of our curator Herwig Kempinger, exciting artists and their works of art are exhibited in the club's premises. The exhibition is changed every 6 months by our curator.

GILBERT BRETTERBAUER

In his artistic practice, Gilbert Bretterbauer pursues the description of space through elements of its furnishings. A spectrum is spanned in a variety of objects that can be assigned to the applied field, functional art pieces and abstract design, which is characterized above all by color and specific materiality. In addition to these two predominant aspects, the quality of the works lies above all in the professional craftsmanship.
The concept of the interaction between art and design is evident in the formal language of the seating furniture and presentation desks, the color palettes of painted pictures, the ornamental patterns of the carpets and the lamp objects made from tangles of wire. Chairs wrapped in threads (everyday objects that are memorable in their shape) are transformed into pure works of art through sensitive modification of the materiality.
With his carpet collections and fabric patterns, the artist deliberately plays on the level of interior design, while freeing himself from classifications and creating abstract works of art from previously functioning furniture or found objects from outside the context, using textile applications and painting. The entire staging, which is completed by textile room dividers, curtains or sewn fabric pictures, creates an atmosphere that is valid in itself and lends a new dimension to the conventional concept of space.
