Art at Am Hof 8
Am Hof 8 is not only a place to feel good and expand your network, but also a place of inspiration. With the help of our curator Herwig Kempinger, exciting artists and their works of art are exhibited in the club's premises. The exhibition is changed every 6 months by our curator.
Eva Schlegel
*1960 in Tyrol, lives and works in Vienna. She studied art at the University of Applied Arts, after several stays abroad she was Professor of Art and Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna from 1997-2006 and Chair of the University Council of the University of Art Linz from 2009 to 2018. In 2011 she was Commissioner for the Austrian Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale.
Eva Schlegel is a freelance artist, her installations, photographs and multimedia works have been shown in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions at home and abroad since 1985. In 1988 and 1992 she took part in the Sydney Biennale, in 1990 in Aperto Venice, in 1995 she designed the Austrian pavilion together with Coop Himmelblau as part of the Venice Biennale, and in 2017 she designed the Kochin Biennale, India. She has realized numerous permanent architectural interventions, including for the Novartis Campus in Basel, at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, for the "Libelle" on the roof of the Leopold Museum in Vienna's Museumsquartier or for the Austrian Parliament, which will be renovated in 2023.
There are several publications on her work, including Eva Schlegel, museum moderner Kunst 1991, L.A. women 2004, Eva Schlegel, in between on the occasion of the exhibition in the Vienna Museum of Applied Arts 2010, Eva Schlegel, spaces for the exhibition in the Kunsthalle Krems 2018.
In her artistic work, Eva Schlegel primarily deals with space, both architectural and mathematical and physical.
